From a single office in central London to a respected practice serving clients across England and Wales, our story has been shaped by a commitment to clarity, integrity and results.
A founding vision
Harrington Legal was founded in 1998 by Sarah Harrington, a solicitor who had spent the previous decade at two of London's largest firms. She had seen first-hand how often clients were left feeling unheard, overcharged and confused by their own lawyers. The new firm was built on a different idea, that good legal work begins with listening properly and explaining clearly.
The early years were spent building a practice one client at a time. Word of mouth carried the firm through its first decade and it remains, even now, our most important source of new instructions.
A commitment to our clients
Every client at Harrington Legal works directly with a qualified solicitor, not a junior assistant. We agree fees in advance wherever possible, give honest assessments of the strength of a case and tell clients when the right answer is not to litigate. That straightforward approach has earned us long relationships with families and businesses who return to us through every chapter of their lives.
Deep UK legal expertise
Our solicitors and barristers cover the breadth of legal areas most relevant to UK clients, from commercial disputes and corporate compliance through to wills, trusts, probate and family matters. Many of our team trained at leading London chambers and now bring that experience to a firm where the client always sees the senior lawyer on their case.

We move into a new home in the City, designed to bring traditional practice and modern technology together.
